Aluminium Mill Finish Sheet
Aluminium Sheet is the most widely used form of Aluminium in all major markets.
ThyssenKrupp Materials (UK) holds a range of standard sizes and grades in stock for next day delivery*. The most common being 1050, 3013, 5251 and 5083, which we are able to offer material produced by rolling from slab or continuous casting methods.
Mill finish material is available with a protective 50, 80 micron or laser quality coating where required.
Material is available in full sheets or guillotined to your size in our in-house facility.
All of our material is produced to the EN standards 485, 515 and 573 and ThyssenKrupp source material from a selection of the world’s major producers.

Aluminium Sheet Grades
ThyssenKrupp Materials carry the following grades in our UK stocks:
1050 H14/24
Aluminium Alloy 1050 is the most common grade used today. It is especially suitable for bending and forming as well as being easy to cut and fabricate. It was formally known as BS code S1B.
3103 offers very good resistance to atmospheric corrosion as well as good weldability and formability, by pressing, drawing and roll forming. 3103 is often used in the motor industry and is also used in applications like radiators and heat exchangers.
Its mechanical properties at elevated temperatures are better than 1000 series alloys, widening its use as a construction cladding material.
Grade 5251 aluminium is the second most popular commercial grade of aluminium and is used for applications that require a higher strength than 1050 or 3103. It also provides good ductility and formability. This grade of aluminium alloy is best known because it can work hardened rapidly and is easily weldable.
5251 alloy also possesses a high corrosion resistance, especially in marine environments.
5083 is known for its performance in extreme environments and suitability for cryogenic applications down to design temperatures of −165 °C.
5083, 5083-O / H111 is highly corrosion resistant and is suitable for marine environments due to it being a non-heat treated magnesium aluminium. 5083 is used in a wide range of applications from shipbuilding to vehicle bodies, motorsport, pressure applications and ship building.
5083 has the highest strength of the non-heat treatable alloys but is not recommended for use in temperatures in excess of 65°C.
6082 is known as a structural alloy. It possesses excellent corrosion resistance and strength.
Grade 6082 is commonly known for its use in structural applications and provides the greatest strength of all the alloys in the 6000 series. This increase in strength is due to the addition of a large quantity of manganese that controls the grain structure and creates a stronger alloy.
