Logistics
ThyssenKrupp Materials (UK)’s dedicated Logistics Division employs over 100 people in warehousing and transport across the UK with its central hub in the West Midlands.
With ever growing demand and tighter times scales, logistics is now one of the most important factors in business. Being on time or late can determine the outcome of a project; success or failure. When placing your order you expect the material to be delivered safely, promptly and with the least amount of work on your behalf.
This is where ThyssenKrupp Materials (UK)’s Logistics Division strides to success. We own our own fleet of vehicles and have a dedicated team to ensure that all customers’ needs are met.
ThyssenKrupp Materials (UK) have 9 branches across the UK which are all linked by the Logistics Division, allowing material based in our central warehouse to be delivered to Northern and Southern areas the very next day. This is enabled by our overnight trunker systems; where material is delivered branch to branch during the night.
With 54 vehicles ranging from 3.5t to 44t articulated lorries, TKM Logistics has a daily carrying capacity of approximately 500t and carries around 450 daily deliveries nationwide.
The advantage of having our own vehicles and Logistics Division means we have full control and the ability to mould our delivery service to fit our customers’ requirements.
All of our vehicles are driven by trained ThyssenKrupp employees, with knowledge of our products and who meet the high levels we expect when handling customers’ deliveries. Along with trained drivers all vehicles are equipped with trackers, allowing for quick and accurate information on the location of your material as well as peace of mind that your delivery is secure.
As well as meeting the in-house transport requirements of all the ThyssenKrupp Materials (UK) Divisions, TKM Logistics also deliver on behalf of ThyssenKrupp Aerospace and other third party customers.
